Re: VW will soon take over Porsche
The engines have been made by VW for a while now, so why would they change their own engine.

Re: VW will soon take over Porsche
what is interesting is how much integration already exists between the 2 companies that of which not many no about since it is not usually in the news. This will be similar to Bentley and Lamborghini where you really can't notice any difference in Porsche up front as most things will happen in the back.
Re: VW will soon take over Porsche
Here's a fun little fact for ya:
In the 1930's Ferdinand Porsche founded a company called "Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH". However, it did not produce any of its own cars. Ferdinand Porsche was also the original founder and designer of Volkswagen. While Ferdinand helped to create a car we now know commonly as the VW Beetle (or bug), he took some of the traits of the car and implemented it into other designs for his namesake company.
The similar design traits are still being used to this day in modern 911 models; engine in the rear with rear (or all) wheel drive and, albeit with some aerodynamic changes, the shapes of both cars are similar too.
In essence, Porsche is simply going to be owned by the company it's own founder started. I'd love to know how that could possibly be a bad thing.
