NFSW Maintenance Window - May 1

Purpose:

The purpose of this maintenance window is to deploy server / a game patch to Need for Speed World. Please see Release Notes below.

Date:

May 1st, 2012

Duration(s):

4 hours

Start: 1pm (13:00) PDT -- 4pm (16:00) EDT -- 8pm (20:00) UTC

End: 5pm (17:00) PDT -- 8pm (20:00) EDT -- 12am (00:00) UTC

Affected Users:

During the maintenance window, the servers will be offline and users will not able to log in and play Need for Speed World. Players who are already logged in and playing NFS World will be disconnected from the server and therefore, disconnected from the game.

New Features:

- Rep and Cash rewards have been increased by up to 100% across all game modes and all Driver Levels! Level up faster, and gain quicker access to new tracks and cars

- Ultra performance parts have been released! Players can now earn these powerful customization items from the Lucky Draw by completing Race and Pursuit events

- Platinum Card Packs are now available for purchase from the Card Packs store or from the SpeedBoost store

- A new Car Styles Aftermarket Card Pack is available for purchase and includes new and exclusive Neons and License plates

Bug Fixes/Changes:

- Bronze Card Packs have been removed from the game

- The Nissan 350z (Z33) has undergone re-tuning to increase the car’s top speed and enhance its handling

- Fixed an issue that sometimes allowed players to use the Slingshot or Traffic Magnet Powerup while in 1st place

WOW!!!!!!

A bunch of packs, now i can get the enigne pack, u can get a lot more rep and cash now!!! Double right? so if u get like 2,700 rep for high stakes then u get now over 5k right? Anyways and the 350z is back!!! Nice update!
EDIT: o and they fixed the bug FINALLY! And ultra parts in the card draws!

Dont know if i missed anything, but wasnt they supposed to fix the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) top speed and enhance its handling??

Ok lets look at this again. So the rep and cash has been doubled..... Whoopie!!! Now more noobs at level 50 cap. This extra cash is so you have money for the one and only T4 IGC car when they release it and you will need to be high in the ranks to get there. Also if this is the incentive to get people into MP races with cheaters still I ain't having it.

So they released the Platinum cards packs, Whoopie!!! We already know they make almost no difference in performance so its a big waste of money. Instead they go and eliminate the bronze packs. Hmm interesting so now instead of me buying some bronze packs when my boost is low, just so I can use it up, I am forced into spending more money to get more boost to buy the lowest of silver packs now.

Another aftermarket card pack is available now. Still wont help with the shit body kits they put in the game.

Interesting how it only took one weeks to re-tune a car...... Hmmm!! Anyone catching on to a trend here?

Who really cares about power-ups anymore. Hell I have so many I don't know what to do with them. If I use any it is NOS and even then it is rare.

So lets sum it up. They are going to get you to buy more boost over and over again to get card packs which are useless. Oh and they put the old boost setup back so now you really have to spend more to get less.

yes they are supposed to change that, ive had to r34s on seperate accounts and stock rx7s were beating me, is the r32 any better than the r34?

yeah I have 2 underground editions so we shall see when it is completed how much faster it is. I thought handling on it was pretty good the first time around.

Hey Dan, i disagree, i think getting rid of the bronze packs is a good thing because now they will keep the siliver and gold packs at a low price because the ultra packs are back and i think they will be at a lower price so that means better stuff for a lower price, also i love the Platinum cards packs, why dont u like them, i love that u know u will get a certain part, now sometimes i wish i knew what cool, but i do a bunch of races and stuff and i never get pro engines so if i get a pack that says their will be a pro engine, thats awesome, ok now the a/w packs are stupid, even the regular a/w packs, their a waste of money, now i do agree about the more rep and cash maybe a bad idea but if u want T4's for IGC, they will have to do that.

I don't know the cost till we get in game, but I am guessing the pricing will not drop just cause they got rid of bronze packs as this is not consistent of the EA way in doing things. I could be wrong but I kind of doubt it.

We can only hope, just like we can only hope for T4's and canyons, but we get to see if they lower the prices in one hour.

Extended an extra hour. If the patch notes include fixing the 911 GT2 bumper view bug, blame the extra hour on me. I emailed NFSLing and she responded right away.

The Porsche 911 GT2 has a bug where when viewed from the bumper, the world seems zoomed in a lot and bumper view is deemed unusable for races.

As you can see in the following pictures, I took two screenshots from both hood view and bumper view, whilst saying in the same spot to show the huge difference. Please fix this soon as I really love this car and want to buy Ultra parts for it, but cannot drive it in any other viewing mode other than bumper.
