Each one of those ponies have a background because people aren't using a program with the transparency option. I recommend everyone that is still using the default ms paint on their computer go google either paint.net or gimp 2 and download one of them. Both programs are free and when used right can be almost as good as photoshop. I'll be putting up a thread showing off a screenshot of the programs and a link to download them if dog would like me to.
