UPDATES FROM JESSE KNAPP
Hello Ghost Recon Online!
It’s been about 6 months since the start of Open Beta and in that time we’ve looked at a lot of data, read a lot of forum posts, listened to you talk in game, and even had discussions with some of you(whether you knew it or not). There have been a ton of really good ideas presented, lots of critical feedback, and even the occasional compliment . Throughout all of this, one consistent message from many of you has been that high end weapons are just too expensive.
We hear you.
There are other things we’ve observed as well.
A couple of examples: Squad support devices are underutilized(these things are really great, but a LOT of players aren’t taking advantage of them) and Armor Inserts are too expensive & have to be replaced too often
Well, we’re still in Beta, so we’re going to try some changes. These particular changes are to do with the pricing and availability of items in the Store, both for RP and GC.
We’ve focused on three core goals with these pricing changes: Increase Choice, Provide Value, and Decrease Early Friction
In order to achieve these goals, here are the highlights of the changes we will be trying in 0.10.1:
Armor, Devices, and Squad Support
Getting your first Squad Support and your Mk II Device & Armor makes such a difference in how the game plays that we’ve reduced their prices to make these essential tools more readily available to new players coming in.
Utilizing Armor Inserts is an important part of gearing up your Ghost for peak performance, so we’ve reduced the overall cost and frequency with which they need to be replaced. In fact, you may see your inserts last up to a full day of play or more.
High level Armor, high level Devices, high level Squad Support, and Device Upgrades all bring a substantial tactical value for yourself and your team on the battlefield. To better reflect this value, we’ve increased the prices of these items.
Weapons
Which variant of a weapon you use is a very personal choice and should be one made to fit the way you prefer to play your character. With that philosophy in mind, ALL weapons within a tier for ALL classes are now the same price. For example that means all standard variants of all level 10 ARs, LMGs, SGs, SMGs, and SRs now cost the same.
The GC prices of high end weapons have been drastically reduced. In fact, you will see that as you progress through the levels, buying items with GC is a better deal.
More details on the exact changes will be available in the Release Notes but you should check them out ingame for yourself once the new patch is live.
As always the team and I look forward to your feedback and reactions.
See you in game.

Re: 0.10.01
I now have to make level 28 assault before this update so I can pay for the current level squad device instead of the increased cost one....

Patch Notes 0.10.1
List of upcoming patch fixes and
updates!
Key Changes
- Draft Teammates! Earn great rewards by recruiting your friends from social
networks. - Major GRO pricing re-balancing (weapons and armor inserts more accessible,
among other changes). - Over 450 bug fixes across the board. Players should see a general increase
in the quality of the game as a result.
Draft Teammates
- You can invite someone on the GRO website who doesn’t yet have a GRO
persona. - Generate a Referral Link to share on the internet, or post it on Facebook or
Twitter. - Anyone who clicks on the URL and logs in to the game is an invitee.
- Invitee will receive 500 RP for accepting a referral invite on first
login. - Referrer will be informed of any new invitee every time he logs in to the
game in the ‘REFER A FRIEND’ session in HOME. - Referrer will be automatically added into invitee's friends list in
game. - Referrer will get referral rewards based on the number of invitee's reaching
level 5 or above. - Please refer to the referral table for detail reward tiers and contents. For
example: - If 5 invitees reach level 5, the referrer will get 500 GC, a mystery box,
and an exclusive avatar. - If 100 invitees reach level 5, the referrer will get bundle items worth 50
US$, a mystery box, and an exclusive avatar.
GRO Price Restructuring
- Weapons
- GC prices of high end weapons have been drastically reduced. For example,
level 30 standard variants now cost 3599 GC. - All Primary weapons now cost the same per tier, across all classes. This
will make it easier for players to make a purchase decision.
with them regularly:
- Bronze Inserts previously cost 75 RP for 3000 Durability, now they will cost
100 RP for 15000 Durability
- Mark II Armor prices have been decreased, while Mk III and IV prices have
been increased.
- Device price rebalancing
- Mark I squad support much cheaper (and Mark II more expensive). We want to
encourage every player to at least purchase Mark I squad support. - Mark II devices cheaper, Mark III more expensive.
- Device inserts more expensive.
Audio
- Fixed the overtime countdown sound to play only in the last 30 seconds of
the timer.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an exploit where it was possible to reduce recoil by alternately
spamming the left/right mouse buttons. - Fixed a bug where AEGIS would sometimes appear as transparent to the
Specialist using it when in prone stance. - Recon Cloak now loses some power upon death (a bug was preventing this from
happening). - Fixed bug that occurs if the user selects ironsight to toggle mode, and then
throws a grenade with right mouse button, character could stay in "aiming mode"
(and another bug that could cause player throwing the grenade from cover to be
stuck out of cover).
Other Changes
- Matchmaking map weighting set to even probability of selection for all
maps.
Known Issues
- Players will receive an error if they have only one slot left in their
inventory and they attempt to purchase an item from the Store. They may not
receive the item either in their inventory or their inbox. This is known issue
that the development team is investigating. If you believe it has happened to
you please submit a support ticket.

Re: 0.10.01
Ahh so glad I was able to shift things around and get the LvlII Hardened Armor and F2000 with my grip/muzzle break/open reflex scope on it. They are now sitting in my inventory till I reach the open level for each.
My Specialist will just have to deal with the price changes in RP down the road.

Re: 0.10.01
So happy I purchased those items before the price change.
My F2000 w/options cost me 35000. Now it starts at 42500 before my upgrades...
The squad Level II hardened armor cost me 18k w/options now starts at 20k before the options.
Side note I did just get the Pentagun w/grip and flash muzzle break in my hands for only 4300, much lower in price than before. Got to run the shotty for achievements.
