I've noticed that long time ago in gaming in general. Coming from text based MUD's (multi user dungeons) that I've played in early 90s. There was no graphics, just text, yet gameplay was very rich and rewarding. Then came first MMO with graphics: Meridian 59 and from then on, things were getting simpler, mainly because (and this point is well made in the following video) games started to become mainstream and more gamers mean more money for the developers.
