The Ford Escort MK1 RS1600 FIA Group 2 “Touring” Edition is the third in a series of special edition vintage racers that celebrate racing’s heritage. This very exclusive series already features the Jaguar E-Type Lightweight “Icon” Edition and the BMW 3.0 CSL Gr.5 “Leicht” Edition and today we add another classic to that family!

The original Ford Escort (Mk1) took Britain by storm. Soon after its initial commercial success, it was destined to go racing. And race it did. In fact, it went on to become one of the most successful rally cars of all time! The Ford team was “practically unbeatable” in the late 60’s and early 70’ but no victory was as sweet as its win at the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally. Finnish driving legend Hannu Mikkola drove the Escort to victory giving rise to famous Escort Mexico (1.6 L “Kent”-engined) special edition road versions in honor of this amazing rally car.

The Ford Escort MK1 RS1600 FIA Group 2 “Touring” Edition comes to NFS World wearing a World Vintage Series livery, befitting the period. Fitted with a beefy roll cage, and touring car wing, the livery features an exclusive VINTAGE sponsor panel.
