Resident Evil: Operation Information & Discussions
The game takes place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and is set in Raccoon City, whose residents have been turned into zombies after an outbreak of the t-virus, a biological weapon illegally developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella. Players will take the role of an officer of the Umbrella Security Service (USS). They have a vastly different objective compared to the Spec Ops opposition: Members of the USS are tasked with destroying evidence of Umbrella's illegal activities, including killing survivors of the outbreak, while the Special Operations team has to expose the actions of the company. Operation Raccoon City will allow the player to make major "what-if" decisions such as killing Leon Kennedy, one of the main characters of Resident Evil 2 and the protagonist of Resident Evil 4.
There are six playable characters in the game, Vector, Spectre, Beltway, Four-Eyes, Lupo and Bertha. Each have their own unique abilities; Vector (real name unknown) is the team's recon expert and is equipped with a cloaking ability, Beltway (real name Hector Hivers) is proficient in the use of explosives, Bertha (real name Michaela Schneider) is the team's medic, Spectre (real name Vladimir Bodrovski) is the team's surveillance class and sharpshooter, Four-Eyes (real name Christine Yamata) is the scientist of the group with the ability to program the bio-organic weapons (BOWs), and then there is Lupo (real name Karena Lesproux) who is an Assault class/Team Leader as shown in a recent trailer. Alongside the single-player mode, the game will also offer four-player co-operative gameplay, which pits the USS against the US Special Operations task-force
The idea for the game came about during the development of Lost Planet 2. The May 2011 edition of the Official Xbox Magazine, to be released on April 5, shows an image of an individual in a gas mask along Umbrella, Inc. logo on the issue's cover. On November 1, 2010 Kotaku reported on a rumor that Slant Six Games, developer of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, was developing Resident Evil: Raccoon City. On its website, Slant Six Games wrote that it was currently developing "an amazing new project" that was unannounced, which was developed in conjunction with a "new publishing partner on a world class franchise."
As of March, 2011, Masachika Kawata estimated the game to be 45% complete. According to Kawata, there are currently discussions on introducing new "bio-organic weapon" enemy creatures into the game. Operation Raccoon City will be the first Resident Evil title to allow players to run and shoot simultaneously, which was never used in previous installments.

Nemises Returnes
We’re almost there! We just have one more week to go and Inserted Evil concludes with what may be some sort of big reward for fans who have been participating since the beginning of this viral campaign. But let’s try to solve this week’s clue (# first before starting to think about next week’s.
Clue #8 is now live over at Inserted Evil, and as you can imagine, it’s another head-scratcher. But as you know, some people are really blessed with the ability to get down and dirty and crack these riddles. So, you know, maybe paying a visit to some Resident Evil forums or a simple Google search can help you solve it, or lead you in the right direction, at least. (I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t solved it yet, but that may be due to something called Batman: Arkham City.)
This is a special clue, though. Not only because you have a chance to win Vector’s mask, but also because it’s brought forth a reveal of another classic Resident Evil character, Nemesis. Yes, you read that right, Nemesis will be in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The first thing that came out of this week’s clue pertaining to Nemesis is a document from an ex-Umbrella employee, in which he talks about the development of the classic BOW. Then we have a video showing Nemesis’ awakening in an European Umbrella facility. And I don’t know about you, but Nemesis looks so adorable in HD!

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Information & Discussions
Game is now out and with many many people putting it down because its not what they exspected, i have to just laugh at them. ORC(operation raccoon city)
is a great game on a multiplayer bases witch it was made for brings the head to head versus mode to a new strength putting Leon Kennedy, Clair Redfeld, ect, vs the members of umbrelles special forces i find this game a hole lot of fun personally and recommend it for any Resident Evil fans
also:
One of the coolest aspects of Operation Raccoon City's multiplayer is its three-sided battlefield. Umbrella Security Service members, who are there to cover up the zombie outbreak, clash with Spec-Ops soldiers sent to get answers and figure out exactly what went down. While those two factions bicker and trade shots, zombies and BOWs wreak havoc all around, targeting anything with a pulse.
Thanks to the campaign story, we get to spend some time with the USS and, even though they're technically the bad guys, relate to them on some level. But what about those Spec-Ops folks? Well, they're going to be playable in a free DLC mission coming April 10 to Xbox 360 and PS3, one that just so happens to revisit an important moment from Resident Evil 3...
This free mission features not just the Spec-Ops squad (most prominently seen in the incredible Triple Impact trailer), but also recreates the scene where Jill Valentine must escape the rampaging Nemesis. So we get a shot at new characters, plus a chance to see an old favorite caught in the middle.
But who are the Spec-Ops characters, anyway? Why I've got these official descriptions right here:

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Information & Discussions
So you going to tell us who the spec ops people are? Left me hanging on that.
Re: Resident Evil: Operation Information & Discussions
Dee-ay
Crispin ‘Dee-Ay’ Jettingham has been a soldier for as long as he can remember. He was the government’s top choice to be the leader of the Echo Six team. Always calm and collected, he is a true soldier and is highly skilled and efficient with his weaponry and his orders.
Harley
A foul-mouthed ex-biker, Erez ‘Harley’ Morris joined the service to avoid going to jail. Excelling in medicine during operation Desert Storm, Harley unexpectedly became one of the best medics in the field. Always putting other’s lives before his, he will always do his best to make sure no man is left behind.
Party Girl
Sienna ‘Party Girl’ Fowler got her reputation throwing wild parties in her youth for businessmen and officials. Little did they know that every party she threw was also recorded with hidden equipment, which would be sold to the highest bidder. The government hired her after she managed to dupe their top surveillance expert at one of her parties.
Shona
Exposed to death at a young age, Lawrence ‘Shona’ Kimbala began treating diseases in his home country of Zimbabwe. After his father's death, he attended Harvard medical school where he realized he had a skill for controlling viruses instead of curing them. He joined the Army’s special weapons program as their foremost expert in virology.
Tweed
Marissa ‘Tweed’ Ronson has a quick tongue and a ready fuse. Originally working for the British Secret Service, she disappeared after a bomb removal operation left her scarred. Hand-picked by the government, Tweed became part of Echo Six because of her un-paralleled expertise in demolitions.
Willow
Caroline ‘Willow’ Floyd developed her skill for speed and elusion growing up alone on a reservation in Montana. She joined the Army straight out of school, excelling as part of the Special Forces. Never satisfied with herself, Willow continues to hone her skills each and every day.
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City hits the US March 20, following in EU on March 23. The PC version follows on May 18.
