Dead Island Riptide
Time to Take Another Bad Vacation, Dead Island Riptide Officially Announced
No trailer. No press conference reveal. Not even a single screenshot. All we have is a logo and a name, which in this case is a sequel to Dead Island, known simply as Dead Island Riptide. Here's what we learned from the official press release:
Deep Silver today announced the development of a new entry to the Dead Island franchise. The next battle between life and death will be waged in Dead Island Riptide and is currently in full development by Techland for consoles & PCs. An extensive reveal of its thrilling new perils is planned for later this summer.
Considering all of the information about this game is so incredibly vague, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this will be the first zombie game to feature jetpacks, zombie elephants, and zombie wizards. Now that would be a sequel. What would you like to see in Dead Island Riptide?

i don't know if i would like to see a facepalm in this game... o_oKovurae wrote:/facepalm
ok ill go out on a limb also... i want drivable vehicles with weapons connected to kill even more zombies.... like dune buggy with rail guns... motorcycles with chainsaws off the front.... and customizable cars with fully customizable character and customizable zombie clothes/look... also a way to create your own island to see if others in friend or group can survive.... that all i can think of for now though.... for reference to bad-ass cars that should be in this game reference twisted metal series ( except twisted metal small ( or the toy car one)
First Details, Screens of Dead Island Riptide
Techland and Deep Silver pull back the curtain on Dead Island's next chapter.
That military ship sanctuary? Not such a sanctuary any more.
Dynamic weather conditions, a new character, and new horde mode-like Hub Defense missions are coming to Dead Island via the next installment in the zombie survival horror franchise, Riptide. After only sharing the name of the Dead Island sequel in June, Techland and Deep Silver opened the informational floodgates this morning, bringing the first details and screens of Riptide.
If you thought you escaped the undead menace at the end of Dead Island, well, you did, but not for long. In Dead Island Riptide, a monsoon hits your military ship sanctuary, forcing players to return to land. This time around, players won't just battle zombies, they'll struggle against the elements thanks to a dynamic weather system that creates flash floods, visibility shrinking rainstorms, and more.
Boats are your new favorite mode of transportation. Just don't fall off.
Among the flooded city of Henderson and the jungle areas on the island of Palanai, Techland says that players will be confronted by new zombie types that will put co-op teamwork skills to the test via Hub Defense missions. Dead Island's spin on horde mode will require players to place traps, fences, and turrets to fend off waves of progressively tougher zombies. Sounds fun.
Techland says a new character with unique skills will join the team, though no further details were shared. The studio also says it's adding new communication tools to help players coordinate in Hub Defense missions, though again, no specifics were mentioned.
Build your defenses and brace yourself for the zombie horde in Hub Defense missions.
Dead Island Riptide has a release date of TBA 2013. What else would you like to see in the sequel?

^might be a game worth getting...after all?
It's too early to tell, but i can tell you that the first dead island was okay. Wasn't really a free roam game because of the "boundaries" but still it was entertaining especially the jungle part, me and flnyla loved racing around in those 4x4 truck things. I can only hope that Riptide will be as fun and have somthing like my previous statment about the trucks, or maybe boats? O.o... anyways I did see that you will be able to transfer your saved progess and "probably guns too",...i do not have in-game weapons of mass dest-pfffffffffffffft i'm sorry i can't say that, because that would be lying.
As I'm installing the game im wondering if anyone here has it, let me know by pm through here or on steam. Hope to see a few of you get in here with me, i get terribly bored without people play with.
