Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Mark your calendars. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 explodes in stores on November 13 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming systems.

Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch have revealed the next installment of the hugely popular first-person shooter with an enthralling new trailer that shows off the first fully futuristic Call of Duty game. Those ready to make the plunge can pre-order Black Ops 2, which costs the usual $59.99.
Set in the year 2025, the main story of Black Ops 2 revolves around the notion of a "21st Century Cold War."

The trailer reintroduces one of the main characters from the first Black Ops: an aged Sgt. Frank Woods. And as with most sci-fi sagas, machines take over the battlefield. As Woods' musings about the future carry on, an exciting montage shows off new features such as armed quadrocopters, mechanized walking vehicles, and even usable horses. Yes, you read that correctly -- you can ride horses in the next Call of Duty game.
Activision has opened up some discussion forums for Black Ops 2, with mention of a Wii version of the game and support for Zombie mode. We will undoubtedly learn a lot more about the next big Call of Duty release in the weeks leading up to the massive E3 gaming expo, June 5-7.

Black Ops 2 does not release until Oct/Nov this year, so there is not way you have actually played it as of yet, since it does not exist. You must have played the original Black Ops.

Goodbye Windows XP, hello Direct X11! Treyarch is giving the next Call of Duty some much needed PC love, and if you're a Black Ops fan that's not running the now un-supported Windows XP, you should be pleased with the results.

Posting on the official Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 website, Treyarch revealed the minimum PC system specs for its upcoming shooter and detailed some of the enhancements PC gamers will enjoy. BLOPS 2 will run on what's being called the Black Ops 2 Engine. Though that's just the latest upgrade to the long-running Infinity Ward Engine (which itself is a modified version of the Quake 3 Arena Engine), Treyarch says the latest version will include performance optimizations, enhanced graphics, and proprietary anti-cheat technology.

Most significantly, the Black Ops 2 Engine now features DX11 support. Treyarch says DX11 makes BLOPS 2 leaner and faster while delivering significant graphical upgrades, including enhanced lighting, shadows, anti-aliasing, bloom, depth of field, ambient occlusion, and more.

Treyarch will also give PC gamers more performance/quality options than ever before, including an adjustable FPS slider, and there will be no framerate cap.

As for PC system specs, the big news is with the jump to DX11, Treyarch is dropping Windows XP support. The CoD: Black Ops 2 minimum specs:
OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7

CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz

Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
Add in the fact Treyarch already confirmed ranked dedicated servers for Black Ops 2, and it's safe to say BLOPS 2 will be a significant upgrade over Modern Warfare 3 on PC. Is the latest news on Black Ops 2 for PC enough to rekindle your interest in CoD?

i saw a gameplay video of this and it has changed in a lot of ways

They changed a lot, but in good ways, except weapon attachments affecting gun behavior like previous perks. That put my hopes down since the "Laser sight" increased hip fire accuracy, i thought it was going to do something cooler
